Spotify Canvas generator
A Canvas is an eight-second vertical loop that plays behind your track in the Spotify app. Making one that loops cleanly is fiddly by hand; song.money generates it from the same visual treatment as the rest of your release assets, with the loop point crossfaded so it never jumps.
- Eight-second vertical loop, seamlessly crossfaded at the loop point
- Visually matched to the track's cover art and video treatment
- Generated alongside cover art and banners as one asset pack
- Download and upload through Spotify for Artists
What makes a good Canvas
It plays silently, on repeat, in a small frame, while someone decides whether to keep listening. That rules out anything text-heavy or slow — the loop needs a single clear motion idea that reads at a glance and never visibly restarts.
The generator crossfades the end of the loop back into the start so the cut is invisible, and keeps motion in the center of the frame where the Spotify interface doesn't cover it.
Part of a release asset pack
Canvas is generated together with 3000×3000 cover art (plain and titled) and a full banner set for YouTube, profile images, headers, Bandcamp and Facebook — all derived from the same visual identity so a release looks coherent everywhere.
The whole pack downloads as a single zip. Free accounts get one pack a month; Pro is unlimited under fair use.
Questions
What are Spotify's Canvas requirements?
A vertical 9:16 video, three to eight seconds, looping. song.money generates at the full eight seconds with a seamless loop point.
Can song.money upload the Canvas to Spotify for me?
No. Spotify has no public API for Canvas uploads, so you add it yourself in Spotify for Artists — it takes a few seconds per track.
Does it match my cover art?
Yes, both are generated from the same palette and visual treatment for the track.
