Terms of Service

Plain English, on purpose. song.money holds money on behalf of artists and pays creators, so the sections on money below are the ones that matter most. If anything here conflicts with what the product actually does, the product is wrong and we'll fix it — tell us at embladedubstep@gmail.com.

1. What song.money is

song.money turns music you provide into audio-reactive vertical videos and, on your instruction, publishes them to third-party platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram) using those platforms' official APIs. It also hosts public song pages, a creation tree of derivative works, funded creative challenges (“bounties”), artist support (“tips”) and sync licensing. By creating an account you accept these terms.

There are two kinds of account. Artists upload music and publish it. Creators (the audience side) build things from other people's songs and enter bounties. You can be both.

2. Your music, and the rights you need

You must own, or hold all necessary rights to, every track you upload or import — including the sound recording and the underlying composition, and including bootlegs, remixes, edits and anything containing samples. This is the single most important obligation in these terms and we cannot verify it for you.

You keep all ownership of your music and of the videos rendered from it. You grant song.money a limited, revocable licence to store, analyse, transcribe, render and transmit your content solely in order to operate the service for you — including publishing to the platforms you connect, and displaying anything you choose to make public.

3. What becomes public, and when

Nothing about your music is public unless you make it so. Uploaded tracks, rendered videos and your dashboard are private by default. Two settings change that, both off unless you switch them on: publishing a song page, and featuring your videos in the public showcase on our home page. Either can be switched off again at any time. Do not publish unreleased music you are not ready to share.

4. Submissions by other people

If you allow submissions on a song page, other people may link remixes, covers, videos, artwork, games and other derivative works to it. Submissions are links with attribution — song.money does not host the submitted media. Everything is reviewed before it appears.

If you submit a creation, you confirm you made it and have the right to share it, and that linking it here does not breach anyone else's rights. Remixes and covers of music you do not control generally require permission from the rights holder; that is your responsibility, not ours and not the original artist's. We may remove any submission, comment or profile at any time, for any reason, including on the request of a rights holder. To report infringing material, email embladedubstep@gmail.com with the URL and a description of the right you hold; we remove promptly on a credible report.

5. Bounties

An artist funds a bounty before it opens. song.money holds that money until the artist selects a winner, at which point it is paid to the winner via PayPal. Specifically:

• The advertised reward is what the winner receives. song.money's fee is charged to the artist on top and is shown before payment.
• An artist may cancel a bounty and receive a full refund only before a winner is selected. Once a winner is selected the money is owed to that creator and cannot be recalled by the artist.
• Selecting a winner is entirely the artist's judgement. Entering does not guarantee payment, and there is no obligation to explain a decision.
• One entry per person. Artists may not enter their own bounties.
• Unless the bounty states otherwise, the creator keeps ownership of their winning work and grants the artist permission to use it in connection with the song. If an artist needs a transfer of rights, that must be stated in the bounty and agreed separately.
• Winning entries are added to the song's public creation tree with the creator's name.

6. Tips and sync licences

Tips are voluntary support for an artist and are not refundable. They are not a purchase and buy no rights, goods or ownership.

A sync licence is an agreement between the buyer and the artist. song.money facilitates the payment and issues the certificate; it is not a party to the licence and gives no warranty about the artist's rights in the music. The scope of each tier is stated at purchase and recorded on the certificate, which is what governs. A licence can be verified by its code. We may revoke a certificate if the underlying payment is reversed or the artist did not hold the rights they claimed.

7. Splits, payouts and tax

Artists may set collaborator splits. Money received is divided by the split sheet in force at the time of the payment; changing splits later never re-cuts money already earned. It is your responsibility that a split sheet reflects a real agreement with the people on it.

Payouts go to the PayPal address you provide and are subject to a minimum withdrawal. song.money does not withhold tax. Everyone who receives money — artists, collaborators, bounty winners — is responsible for their own tax reporting in their own jurisdiction. Depending on amounts and where you live, we may be required to collect tax information or report payments before paying you.

Funds held between payment and withdrawal are held for you, not as a deposit, and earn no interest for you. We may reverse earnings arising from a payment that is charged back, refunded or found to be fraudulent.

8. Fees, plans and billing

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are billed through PayPal at the prices shown on the pricing page. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; cancelling stops future renewals and keeps access until the end of the period you already paid for. Platform fees on bounties and on artist earnings are shown in-product before you commit to anything. We may change fees with notice; changes never apply retroactively to money already committed or earned.

9. Platform rules and account safety

Posting happens only through official platform APIs, with tokens you grant via each platform's own login. We never ask for or store your platform passwords, and we never use bots, scrapers or browser automation. You remain bound by each platform's own terms, and a platform may suspend or limit your account for reasons outside our control. Access to a platform may change or be withdrawn by that platform at any time.

10. Storage and deletion

Source uploads are cleared automatically — 24 hours on the free plan, 72 hours on paid — with a small archive kept so re-renders keep working. A rendered video is kept until it has actually posted, up to a maximum of 72 hours, and is never deleted while a post is still scheduled against it. Download anything you want to keep. Records required to account for money — earnings, licences, payouts — are retained after deletion of other content.

11. Acceptable use

Don't upload music you don't have the rights to; don't use the service to harass, impersonate or deceive; don't attempt to manipulate platform metrics; don't submit work you didn't make; don't use bounties to launder money or to pay for anything other than the creative work described. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules, and will refund any held bounty funds to their source where we can.

12. No investment, no securities

Nothing on song.money is an investment. We do not sell shares in songs, catalogs or artists; we do not offer ownership stakes, revenue-sharing securities, promised returns or tradable instruments of any kind. Performance figures shown in the product are analytics about music, not financial instruments. Bounty rewards, tips and licence fees are payments for work or for permission to use music — nothing more.

13. Warranty and liability

The service is provided as-is. We don't warrant uninterrupted operation, that any post will succeed, or that any particular result will follow from using it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid song.money in the twelve months before the claim, and (b) any funds of yours we were holding and failed to pay. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Changes and contact
